And previously her Manny & Lo (1996) role received a nod by the Independent Spirit Awards. Scarlett has an older brother and sister and a twin brother. She divides her time between New York with her dad, and Los Angeles with her mother. Her acting career was launched in the off-Broadway production of 'Sophistry' with Ethan Hawke.


Johansson has revealed that she used to have a crush on actor David Hasselhoff. They both worked in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. "I so fancied him when I was young, that to see my name on the credits next to his makes me go all girly. He was a hunk back in those days." [3]

Father Karsten Johansson was born in Denmark, while mother Melanie Sloan comes from a Bronx-bred family of Polish descent.

She was attached for a short time to the upcoming film Mission: Impossible III, but supposedly dropped out of the project after a dinner date with Tom Cruise and a roomful of Scientologists went awry. The official stance is she dropped out because of scheduling conflicts. [2]
